vmware layoffs , cut more than 2000 positons

It didn’t take long. Broadcom has only just acquired VMware at the end of November and is already cutting into the acquired company’s American workforce. It is not the group led by Hock Tan that announces this publicly. We know that more than 2,000 jobs are now being eliminated at VMware, adding up the figures included in the mandatory declarations (WARN, for Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification ) sent to the Department of Labor and Employment of each American state where the manufacturer of bullet points deletes positions.

Thus, in California, Broadcom declared to the authorities to cut 1,267 jobs in Palo Alto. In Texas: 577 layoffs. In Colorado, the figure rises to 184 jobs. In the state of Georgia: 217 jobs eliminated. In New York State, Broadcom is firing 169 people across four offices. In Washington State: 158 jobs lost. In Boston: 154. This is only the beginning, according to analysts.

No surprise: Broadcom is known for its massive layoffs after completing an acquisition. CA Technologies staff paid the price in 2018 : 2,000 layoffs out of 4,837 positions in the United States. Brocade also: 1,100 people laid off “to reduce costs” . More recently, in 2019, 200 people left, following the acquisition of Symantec’s enterprise activity.

Moreover, a few months after the acquisition of Symantec by Broadcom, most of its historical partners had no news from the publisher . It is therefore also not surprising that uncertainty grips VMware’s partners as the wave of layoffs has begun .
