Thus, in California, Broadcom declared to the authorities to cut 1,267 jobs in Palo Alto. In Texas: 577 layoffs. In Colorado, the figure rises to 184 jobs. This is only the beginning, according to analysts.
No surprise: Broadcom is known for its massive layoffs after completing an acquisition. CA Technologies staff paid the price in 2018 : 2,000 layoffs out of 4,837 positions in the United States. Brocade also: 1,100 people laid off “to reduce costs” . More recently, in 2019, 200 people left, following the acquisition of Symantec’s enterprise activity.
Moreover, a few months after the acquisition of Symantec by Broadcom, most of its historical partners had no news from the publisher . It is therefore also not surprising that uncertainty grips VMware’s partners as the wave of layoffs has begun .
